MONTREAL – The McGill University men's basketball team will be hosting four NCAA Division 1 teams in August in preparation for their 114th season of college hoops.
The defending RSEQ conference champion Redmen open their campaign by hosting the
Indiana Hoosiers from Bloomington, Ind., on Aug. 12 with a 7 p.m. tip-off at Love Competition Hall. Other NCAA squads on the McGill schedule include the
Memphis Tigers (Aug. 18) from Tennessee, the
Loyola University Maryland Greyhounds (Aug. 26) of Baltimore, Md., and the
Fordham Rams (Aug. 28) from Bronx, N.Y.
All four NCAA games will be played at Love Competition Hall, a 950-seat facility located inside the Sir Arthur Currie gymnasium at 475 Pine Avenue West.
Advance tickets are available at the Redbird Sports Shop (514-398-1539), located inside the Currie gym. Tickets can also be purchased at the door and go on sale an hour before tip-off. Single-game general admission for each NCAA game is $15 but a four-game
NCAA package is available for $40.
Regular season ticket packages are also on sale for only $71, which includes eight men's conference games, eight women's games, a McGill basketball T-shirt and a $24 savings off the price of individually-purchased tickets. Fans who require a season parking pass, can purchase the complete package for $119.
McGill posted a 22-11 overall record last year, including a 14-2 first-place finish in the RSEQ conference. The Redmen are slated to open the regular season on Nov. 8 when they host the Bishop's Gaiters. The road to a possible third consecutive appearance for McGill at the CIS Final Eight in Toronto (Mar. 13-15) will head through Bishop's, which will host the RSEQ conference Final Four tournament, Mar. 6-7, 2015.
